Two Down, One to Go

On Saturday, we attended son number 2's commencement at Central Washington University.  It was a sunny, cool day and we got up at 5:30 am to drive two hours across the state.  The ceremony started at 9:30 am and the graduates had to line up at 8:45.  The drive was pleasant and uneventful. The commencement took place in the football stadium, so DH and I found seats in the bleachers.  The graduates were sitting on the field in an orientation that had us behind them and looking directly into the sun, but despite these small annoyances, it was a lovely and meaningful ceremony.  Our graduate even remarked on his enjoyment of the speakers, which says a lot right there. The ceremony moved quickly and the gentlemen reading the graduates' names as they received their diplomas reminded me of the announcer on "The Price is Right" (come on down!).  They livened up an otherwise somewhat tedious litany of names and entertained everyone at the same time.
